The English model, actress and singer, Naomi Campbell has a love for South Africa. Her first visit to our country was back in 1993 and that’s when Naomi connected with S.A.

She built up an amazing relationship with Nelson Mandela and his family. Naomi looked up to Madiba, and will never forget the valuable lesson he taught her and that was she must use the person she is in order to help others, reported ZAlebs.

Naomi arrived in South Africa for a press conference in Sandton on Monday. Briefly.co.za learnt that she spoke to Kaya FM’s The B-Side with Bridget Masinga about the launch of the Global Citizen Festival which will be held in December.

The festival will host various local and international artists. South Africans will be rushing to obtain tickets to see the exciting line-up which include Beyoncé, Jay Z, Chris Martin, Usher, Wizkid, Sho Madjozi, Tiwa Savage and others.

It is so good to see that Naomi is true to her feelings with the support she shows for our local talent whether it be in the sports field or in the music industry.

She has seen from the people she has made friends with, what South Africa is all about and the same goes for Africa. She is of the opinion that there is so much we do not have and she wants to make sure we get it!

Naomi added that she feels her work has just begun and as far as fashion is concerned, she is adamant that there will be a Vogue Africa in the near future.

She claims that Africa has got so much to give and she will not stop her work and her mission until she is no longer here.

With all the work Naomi has done thus far, we can see her passion and definitely see she is succeeding.

Just to re-fresh our memories, we think back to just how proud she was when Wizkid walked the runway for Dolce and Gabbana. It is so heart-warming to witness a woman of her standing, doing all she can to ensure Africa received the respect and recognition it so deserves.
