A young South African lady has shared how she completed her thesis while on a hospital bed and submitted it just a few days after having an operation.

Writing on Twitter, Lebogang Mokgethi said her determination paid off because she's now a proud holder of a master's degree in medical anthropology.

26-year-old Lebogang had to have an operation at the time to remove ovarian cysts. She was then diagnosed with pulmonary embolism, Briefly.co.za learned.

These are not the only complications Lebogang faced. According to @SheSouthAfrica, she ruptured membranes when she was pregnant with her son about three years ago.

This caused her to go into early labour. Fortunately, her son survived the ordeal. The brave Lebogang is currently on medication to treat her pulmonary embolism.
