- Tumi Morake, a long with some other SA comedians, have landed it big with Netflix
- She is making history by being the first African female to have a slot on Netflix
- The special does not have an official name yet, but it will be translated into multiple languages so that it can be enjoyed world wide
South Africans are proud of all the international achievement we have made. This time it is our comdians that will be off to Canada later this month.
Tumi Morake, Loyiso Gola, Loyiso Madinga and Riaad Moosa will be part of a comedy special to be held, allowing them to make their mark internationally.
These comedians have already achieved by notching a deal with the popular Netflix. It will premier in 2019.
Tumi Morake has made history. She is the first African female comic on Netflix.
Morake stated that 'incredible things are happening' and that she is extremely grateful. She will be giving it her all and doing everything in her power to make her country proud.
Moosa added his comment with so much excitement in his voice. He is looking forward to returning to Montreal and being part of the Just for Laughs festival.
He also said that Netflix are taking comedy to a whole new and exciting level. He shared his excitement and said he is honoured to be able to part of the series which is of such high standard.
Having been selected, the funny four will join forces 47 other funny people of from a crazy 13 different places around the world.
Briefly.co.za learnt that each comedian is given a 30min time slot to do their thing.
At the 'Just for Laughs Festival' in Montreal, is where some of the footage for the show will be taken. The rest will be done in other countries, at other times, but all episodes will be released at the same time.
Our South African comedians will be filmed from July 24 - July 29.
There is still no official name for the special. However, it will be translated into multiple languages: French, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, Dutch, German and English.
