South African President Cyril Ramaphosa managed to secure a R12 billion renewable energy investment deal with a Saudi Arabian company, and tweeps have a lot to say about it.
South Africans took to social media to share their opinions on the massive investment deal Ramaphosa landed- and to say they have mixed emotions is an understatement.
“South Africa signed a big deal on the renewable side of R12bn with Redstone and ACWA‚ which is a Saudi Arabian energy company‚ in partnership with the Central Energy Fund for renewable in terms of solar and wind,” the minister of energy wrote on Twitter.

A lot of social media users slammed Ramaphosa for selling out the country.

As Briefly.co.za reported previously, President Cyril Ramaphosa has secured a R12 billion renewable energy investment deal with a Saudi Arabian company.
The deal forms part of a much larger $10 billion (R133 billion) investment deal which Ramaphosa secured with the help of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
