Anderson makes SA proud as the 1st SA man to reach the Wimbledon final in 97 years

The fact that a South African man has managed to reach the final is history in itself but alongside that was the longest semi-final in Wimbledon history which lasted an astounding five hours which saw Anderson eventually win the day with after trailing behind John Isner.

The South African stunned the crowds after defeating the American Isner 7-6, 6-7, 6-7, 6-4 26-24 in the semifinal.

Friday's match saw Anderson fight back from a 2-1 to win his spot in the final. Anderson initially won the first set but then lost the two sets back to back. He took the fourth set with a 6-4 victory and broke the Isner serve twice in the set.

Anderson will face either Novak Djokovic or Rafael Nadal in the final as the two face each other in their semi-final match.

The weekend sports are not over as the Soccer World Cup final is set to take place on Sunday and will see the newcomers Croatia versus the European colossus France.
