Social media is proving to be a place where one can easily find the opinions of others, which is helpful whenever you need advice on certain issues.
A Nigerian man identified as Ayo Bankole on Twitter wrote on how his pastor asked men in his church who should resign and relocate between a wife who earns N750,000 (R27 000) monthly in Kaduna and a husband who takes home N150 000, which is just over R5400, a month in Lagos.
He revealed that some men insisted that the woman should be the one to resign. As a result of their line of thought, Ayodeji explained that patriarchy causes many men to remain poor. He added that he felt like slapping the man sitting beside him who raised his hand in support of the woman relocating.

Many Nigerians also shared their opinions regarding who should relocate and who should not. Wale Gates says we shouldn’t blame the man’s ego alone, that the question what will people say is another factor.
Joseph thinks the man who relocates will be reduced to a house boy by the woman.
Onyebebe disagrees with that line of thought. For her, no hard-working, intelligent guy can be reduced to anything.
Olanisimi thinks Nigerian and African men and their ego that keeps them in poverty go together.
Lord Baldwin thinks the right thing to do is to go with God’s plan.
