Actress and presenter Salamina Mosese shared how she gave her daughter a lesson in being proud of her identity.

Writing on Twitter, Salamina said her daughter, Tumelo, went to play with two other girls at a restaurant recently, Briefly.co.za gathered.

About 10 minutes later, they returned and one of the girls asked if Salamina was Emily's mom. Confused, she asked who Emily was.

It then became apparent that since the other girls couldn't pronounce Tumi's name, they had christened her "Emily." Tumi had seemingly accepted this.

It was at this point that Salamina gently told the girls that her daughter's name is Tumelo and that they could call her Tumi for short.
