Black Twitter reacted to the trial of Johannes Potgieter and Hendrick Dumas, who allegedly assaulted a nine-year-old black girl.
On Monday, 33-year-old Potgieter and Dumas, 48, appeared in court again on several charges following an incident with a young black girl.
Twitter parody account Man’s Not Barry Roux took to his account to share a photo of the two ‘unchained’ farmers in the court room.
He captioned the photo, “South Africa meet UNCHAINED Johannes Potgieter & Hendrick Dumas who are charged with kidnapping, attempted murder, assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm & the unlawful pointing of a firearm, for tying a 9 year old BLACK GIRL to a tree & shooting at her.”
Needless to say, the post sparked outrage on social media and some tweeps even wanted to take the law into their own hands.
Some tweeps felt the incident proved white people remained superior and the ANC rule has done nothing to rectify the inequality in the country.
Lehlohonolo Letwaba wrote, “The 'Rainbow Nation' was a lie it was a get out of jail free card for the apartheid regime. BLACK people will never be truly free and safe as long as racism exists in this god forsaken country.”
It prompted tweeps to say the EFF is the change South Africa needs in situations like this.
