On Tuesday, the 10th of July, South Africans were shocked when a plane crashed near Pretoria. A video filmed by a passenger on board shows the terrifying moment the plane made impact with the ground.
The small charter plane crashed about 8 kilometres from Wonderboom airport on the afternoon of the 10th of July, as reported on by Briefly.co.za.
A video filmed by one of the passengers shows the wing of the plane on fire and moments later the plane crashes, all caught on film.
At first, no one knew why the plane had crashed, but it soon came to light that one of the plane's engine's burst into flames just after take-off.
Briefly.co.za reported that 19 people were reported injured and one person has passed away since the crash.
SAPeople reported ER24 confirmed the death of one of the victims. The owners of the plane confirmed another death, taking the death toll to 2.
An investigation into the cause of the flames has been begun by the SA Civil Aviation Authority.
