A four-year-old girl from Giyani, Limpopo, is a big fan of rapper Sho Madjozi and even draws cultural inspiration from her.

The girl's father, Kevin Halama, wrote Madjozi an email revealing how his daughter asked him to make her a xibelani skirt, Briefly.co.za learned.

The skirt is traditionally worn by Tsonga women, especially when performing the xibelani dance. Madjozi has popularised it in her music videos.

Halama said his daughter asked to take a picture clad in the skirt and requested him to share it with Madjozi on social media. He added:

Thank you for the wonderful work that you are doing and for being a shining light for many African daughters out there who now see the importance of cultural identity.
