Heartwarming moment when CEO gave employee, who walked 20-miles to get to work, a car

A company in the United States has become the talk on social media after an employee went viral for his dedication to the company and he was also rewarded for it.

The young employee identified as Walter Carr has just been rewarded with a car by his boss after he walked 20 miles all night just to make it to work on his first day. It was gathered that he made the long walk through the suburbs of Birmingham, Alabama.

Luke Marklin, the chief executive of the moving company, had driven all the way from Tennessee over to meet his new employee and after chatting over a cup of coffee, Marklin gave Carr the keys to his own 2014 Ford Escape.

On his way, he was picked up by a police officer in the early hours on Friday, July 13. The police officer had offered to take him to eat breakfast after hearing his story.

According to BBC, the young man who works for a moving company had been heading to a clients' place to help them move. The client Jenny Lamey had revealed that she and her husband heard their bell ring around 6:30am.

Lamey explained that she had opened the door to received Carr who was accompanied by a police officer from the Pelham force.

She said: "He proceeded to tell us that he had picked up 'this nice kid' in Pelham early this morning."

The woman who shared the story on Facebook, added: "He WALKED ALL NIGHT to get from Homewood to Pelham. Because he needed to get to work. For those reading this that are not local, that's over 20 miles."

"The police officer said they picked him up earlier that morning, took him to get some breakfast and once they checked his story out, brought Walter to our house."

Lamey also revealed that she had told him to rest before the moving crew arrived but he refused and began helping her right away. She said he told her about growing up in New Orleans, Louisiana before his family had moved to Houston, Texas, after their home was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina.

She further said: "I can't imagine how many times on that lonely walk... in the middle of the night did he want to turn back. How many times did he wonder if this was the best idea, but he walked until he got here! I am in total awe of this young man!"

Praises for the young man flooded social media after his story went viral.
