Social media users took to Twitter to share their opinions on the ANC CIT heist suspect, who was also linked with R97m ‘farms for friends’ scandal.
Tweeps reacted to a post by Adriaan Basson, which reported on Errol Velile Present, the ANC employee who is a suspect in a cash-in-transit heist.
“ANC official Velile Present arrested for cash-in-transit heist; linked to Nkwinti's R97m 'farm for friends' scandal,” Basson partially captioned his post.
Tweeps were quick to weigh in on an ANC member’s alleged connection to a cash-in-transit heist.
A couple of tweeps felt Present should at least have been given time until proven guilty before the ANC fired him.
“Why was he fired for simply being arrested, what ever happened to 'innocent until proven guilty', he hasnt even been to court yet wena?” Ross Maltman wrote.
One tweep shared a screenshot of an alleged post Present posted on social media, which indicated he knew trouble was coming his way.
As Briefly.co.za reported earlier, Errol Velile Present was identified as the ANC employee based at the party’s Luthuli House, who had alleged ties to a cash-in-transit heist.
However, the cash-in-transit heist might not be the only pie Present has a finger in. According to reports, Present has been linked with other illicit dealings.
