- Andile has served a letter of demand to the SABC for his job back or 2 million
- SABC is facing multiple claims from Marawa and Ncbube
-Kaizer Kganyago, spoke person of the SABC, confirmed that they have received the demand
Andile Ncube has given SABC an ultimatum. The TV and radio sports presenter has told SABC either they reinstate him to his ports show at Radio 2000, or they pay him out R2 million.
Robert Marawa not being re-appointed has lead to the SABC recieving another demand letter, reported Sowetan Live.
Ncube’s lawyers Maluleke Msimang Attorneys have served the public broadcaster with a letter stating his legal intentions.
Breifly.co.za learnt that the SABC is now faceing a multi-million-rand legal claims from both Marawa and Ncbube.
Clement Shirilele, Ncube’s lawyer, would not part with too much information, but did confirm that there is a dispute between his client and SABC.
Shirilele stated that they are representing Mr Andile Ncube in regards to certain contractual arrangements he has with the SABC but they are unable to offer any further comments with regards to the matter in question.
A colleague of Ncube in the know, did indicate that Ncube felt unhappy when he was removed from his show. The reason is justifiable as Ncube had turned down an offer from a private station prior to him agreeing to renew his contract with Radio 2000.
This left a very sour taste in Ncube's mouth as he stayed loyal to the SABC and now feels that the favour has not been returned.
Ncube told the SABC that he would be going to Power FM. This is when the SABC came in with the offer to give him R7 500 per show in order to retain him.
In Februrary, Ncube signed a contract for R165 000.00 monthly income until March 2019. This made his yearly earnings R1.9 million.
It was also revealed by the co-worker that Ncube asked for the position of the Metro FM sports show when he was informed that the SABC have decided to kick him out.
SABC have refused his request and informed him that there would be only one person responsible for both shows in a simulcast.
An SABC employee further stated that due to the drama, it was said that Ncube would no longer be a presenter for the World Cup's final match.
Kaizer Kganyago, spoke person of the SABC stated that the letetr was recieved. Due to the confidentiality of the letter, the SABC is not permitted to comment further.
Ncube and his lawyers are no playing any jokes and the matter it being taken extremely seriously.
Kganyago repudiated claims that Ncube was denied from the shedule of the World Cup. He stated that anchors were on rotation.
There has been no date revealed as to when the SABC needs to attend to the demand by, but it does not seem that Ncube will be leaving it very long.
