A traditional healer in Phola, Mpumalanga, has slammed phoney sangomas who use human body parts for their muthi.

Gogo Lilly Sambo was speaking at an imbizo organised by the local police on Friday, Briefly.co.za learned. The meeting focused on the challenges facing people living with albinism.

Gogo Sambo said people who engage in this practice are not real sangomas but "murderers" who give traditional healers a bad name.

As real sangomas, we have a problem when an albino gets killed because all fingers point at us. We get painted with the same brush.

She expressed a prayer that God and the ancestors would help her community to flush out such unscrupulous people.
