Zulu King Goodwill Zwelithini will be celebrating his 70th birthday soon and he wants a big affair.
In a report by TimesLIVE, it is said the Zulu king feels he deserves to have a lavish bash for his birthday.
It is also further said that the king wants his subjects to fund the birthday party because they are lucky to have him.
The celebration of King Goodwill's 70th birthday will be held at his Enyokeni palace in Nongoma, Zululand during the day and will be moved to his Linduzulu palace later the evening.
Among the expected guests are some high-profile names and politicians.
Briefly.co.za gathered from reports that President Cyril Ramaphosa and former president Jacob Zuma is also expected to join the festivities.
IFP leader Inkosi Mangosuthu Buthelezi will also be attending the event.
King Goodwill was born on July 14 1948, in Nongoma. He is the 8th Zulu monarch and the longest serving king.
Not everyone agrees with the king though. One person commented on the news of the expected celebrations:
Maepa Erixzon makiya - Our tribal leaders have nothing in their hearts but an empty useless pride to the communities they claim they're commanding. We're deeply in poverty and this is what he commands to have his ego fulfilled? stupidity and ignorance
