Taking to social media, Mme a Masakona shared a couple of Bakwateleni Margaret Jiyane’s designs and it got the attention from Black Twitter.

“I have decided to market this young Ndebele artist. Her name is Bakwateleni Jiyane. WhatsApp 0769449459,” she captioned the post.

Social media users found the designs refreshing and creative, and soon tweeps started placing online orders.

Sister Leader, who goes by the Twitter handle @kaysexwale, wrote: “Wow. I hope she responds, I want to buy from her, and also ask for customised All Stars.”

Another social media user added, “I saw the Ndebele designed running shoes (NU) at a retail store, endorsed by comrades foundation, would you happen to know who designed those? I don't wanna buy a stolen design. Big brands are stealing our things and making them their own of late.”

It is not the first time a tweep’s creative designs stole the show on social media. As reported previously, a young South African lady recently started an African print apparel company — and tweeps are absolutely loving her designs.
