- Thuso Mbedu is Generations new cast member
- She is now the character called Okuhle Cele
-Okuhle Cele's life is filled with drama and will bring a lot of spice to the show
Months have passed since the announcement was made that Thuso Mbedu will have a new role SABC 1 soapie, Generations, The Legacy.
Even though there was a lot of uncertainty of her new role, viewers are eagerly awaiting to see what she brings to the soapie.
Her role, as previously declared, is that of Okuhle Cele, Sphe (Pearl Monama) and Fana’s (Duma Mnqobi) cousin. The character Okuhle, was brought up in the Cele royal household because her mother and father were never wed.
Due to Okuhle’s elder sister losing her life in a devastating accident, her mother is over protective, resulting in a number of things she was restricted to.
Okuhle’s mother and Sphe’s father were siblings. TVSA commented that the character was brought to Johannesburg in order to assist Sphe with the challenges she if facing with her marriage.
Briefly.co.za learnt that she needs to free herself so she can start a new life on her own. She feels so much pressure living with the Cele family. With her drive and determination she wants to make a success of herself.
Okuhle’s character is similar to Isithuzi’s. Okuhle lived a rural life, but she is still s-e-x-y and lively. She loves to have her say and always gives her opinion on matters arising. Her manipulative manner is a way she deals with life, it is not meant to hurt anyone.
There is a little jealously where Sphe and Fana are concerned. Okuhle feels that the two were preferred by the royal family.
The fact that all the Cele children had degrees, Okuhle had no choice but to gain one herself. She successfully got a BA in African philosophy. Just to add a little to the pretty picture, she did a correspondence course the UNISA and gained a fashion design diploma.
With her being so outspoken and unremorseful, she comes across as an insensitive person. She is a very confident young lady but inside Okuhle has her own insecurities that she has to deal with. She is not as tough as her appears to be.
Being annoyed or unhappy does not gel with Okhule. Confidence is her key word so when things are a little hard, she tends to push them to one side.
Another favourite pastime for her is social media. She finds the power social media has intriguing.
