Victor “Victovich” Hlungwani phoned the news outlet to get Makgoga's details because he wanted to help him.

According to Hlungwani, he was glad to see such a young man taking up refereeing and he decided he wanted to meet with him and give him the necessary assistance.

It is not the first time a young soccer referee stole the spotlight. As Briefly.co.za reported previously, Fezile Hlophe had to battle throat cancer when he was still a young teenager.

But, he did not let his illness get him down. Hlophe overcame the cancer and went on to get his name in the sport history books.

The 17-year-old Sowetan teen had become the youngest soccer referee in South African football history to oversee an official match, which was between the Kaizer Chiefs and the University of Pretoria.
