"By the end of it I was in tears" Sashi Naidoo opens up about interrogation in Israel

Shashi Naidoo has finally opened up about her horrendous experience in Israel and the treatment that she received at the hands of the Israeli authorities.

Her trip which was just short of 48 hours included a two hour interrogation while she was on her way to Palestine.

The Israeli authorities accused her of working for the South African branch of the BDS which they say wants to cause "harm" to Israel.

Naidoo maintains that her trip was planned for by the the South African Council of Churches and South African Jews for a Free Palestine and that she was travelling at her own expense.

She has been barred from entering Israel for 10 years after her trip which she had gone on to see for herself how the people of Palestine were being treated.

Naidoo was welcomed back by Nelson Mandela's grandson, Chief Mandla Mandela, who called her personally to encourage her.
