Kano Matolong might be an 11-year-old Grade 6 pupil, but he has already made a name for himself as a talented DJ.
Briefly.co.za learned that Kano uses DJ Caronet as his stage name and regularly works up large crowds in Mahikeng, North West province.
According to Daily Sun, Kano's uncle and elder brother introduced him to the world of DJs and taught him a few tricks.
The young DJ explained:
I started watching videos of real DJs and imitated them until my uncle decided to teach me how to do it properly.
His mom, 44-year-old Neo Motolong, hailed his son's talent but said she wants him to focus more on his studies.
Kano said he although he loves music, he wants to become an engineer when he grows up. His favourite DJs are Prince Kaybee and DJ Shimza.
His uncle, Modise Lumka, said he's a fast and keen learner. He added that the young lad has an ear for good music.
Kano's impressive confidence behind the decks and in front of huge crowds at such a young age shows his immense potential.
