South Africa’s DJ Sbu grew up in the townships and even when he rose to fame, he never forgot his roots.
The successful entrepreneur and DJ opened up about his views on black people who rise to success and how he feels that they need to give back a little more.
He recently spoke at an event for ‘Let's Eat With Siphokazi’, where he highlighted the importance of giving back to the people who made you. He urges all black people to give love back to their families, communities and people when they achieve success.
Briefly.co.za learnt that, growing up in ekasi during apartheid, DJ Sbu still managed to open his record label at the ripe age of 21. He has used this strength and knowledge to empower and grow others.
DJ Sbu always remembers where he came from and his is proud of his roots.
He recently took to Instagram with a very heart felt post, expressing his pride in his growth and reminding us to never forget our small beginnings. He even went as far as to mention YFM.
