52-year-old Phillip Thokolo, from Ga-Molete in Limpopo, is on a mission to promote happy marriages in South Africa.

The composer, dancer, and singer makes music specifically for newlyweds, Briefly.co.za learned.

According to Daily Sun, he first started off as a gospel musician. However, rising cases of domestic abuse prompted him to switch to wedding songs.

The talented musician said:

I have tailor-made songs for brides and grooms. Most of the people at whose weddings I performed are still together.

He often cites his own marriage as proof that long-term relationships can be successful. Although he has been married for 15 years, he and his wife have been together for 34 years.

Thokolo said the secrets to his long relationship are tolerance, respect, and confronting challenges together.

He has two albums to his name — Rabaki and Basadi Ba Mzansi. He plans to launch a third, Mekgolokwane, in December this year.

Thokolo supplements his income by performing at malls and smaller shopping centres around the country.
