- Fundiswa was about to sleep recently
- However, her visiting family insisted that she must sit with them
- Moments later, there was a shootout and a bullet went through her shack and hit her pillow
A 38-year-old woman in Overcome Heights, Cape Town, is thanking God and her ancestors after surviving a shootout unscathed.
According to Daily Sun, Fundiswa Twani received some family members who visited her on Saturday at around 7pm. However, she felt tired and told them she was going to sleep.
Nevertheless, they convinced her to come back and sit with them. Just moments later, there was a shootout outside her shack between police and suspected criminals.
Incredibly, one bullet went through a shack and hit the same pillow she was laying her head on moments earlier, Briefly.co.za learned. A shaken Fundiswa explained:
My head was exactly where the bullet hit. It is clear that if my family hadn’t forced me to wake up, I would be dead now.
She said her family, especially her 14-year-old daughter, is still traumatised by the incident.
Fundiswa found the cops near her shack when the shooting stopped. She claimed they merely took a statement from her but didn't offer any assistance, including counselling.
One of the family members who visited Fundiswa, 34-year-old Simanye Tyolo, said, "It's clear that God sent us to save her life."
A Western Cape police spokesperson said there is no record of the incident reported so far.
