Western Cape Premier Helen Zille got slammed by South African presenter, singer and actress Nandi Madida for a tweet about the death of Professor Bongani Mayosi.
Professor Mayosi' passing was a shock to South Africans, as reported by Briefly.co.za.
Zille shared a tweet discussing the reasons for the professor's suicide.
I hope the racial-nationalist cry-bullies who drove the Fallists' demonisation campaign, contemplate the consequences of their hatefulness. Labeling people destroys their lives.
Zille's tweets are often criticised by South Africans and this tweet got a lot of attention.
Nandi reacted to Zille's words by accusing her of spreading lies and using the professor's death for political agendas.
You have no respect for his family and loved ones who would like to peacefully mourn a true genius who loved students and supported the Fees Must Fall movement!
