- A man from North Carolina was ordered to pay his lover's spouse millions for breaking up their marriage
- Keith King caught his wife and her lover red handed and decided to take him to court
- King argued the affair resulted in financial damage, since he and his wife used to work together
Cheating on your spouse is something frowned upon across the world, but some places take it much more serious than others.
Take North Carolina for instance- a man, Francisco Huizar, was ordered by a court to pay his lover's husband $8.8 million, which totals just over R116 million, because he broke up their marriage.
CNN reported Pro BMX stuntman Keith King started to noticed his wife, Danielle Swords, and Huizar, whom she met at one of her hubby's events, were sending each other inappropriate texts.
However, little did he know the extent of their affair- when he treated his wife to spa days, her lover would join her and when he took her on holiday for her birthday, Huizar would book in nearby.
Briefly.co.za learned King caught his wife and Huizar in bed. Swords filmed the altercation where her lover put her husband in a choke hold- the footage was used as proof in an assault charge.
King went on to show the court evidence of his wife's infidelities- which included hotel receipts, call logs and social media posts. The court found the evidence sufficient and ruled in favour of King.
However, Huizar and his attorney, Cheri Patrick, plan on appealing the court's decision on grounds that he was not the one who broke up their marriage.
According to Patrick and Huizar, King and his wife's marriage was already in ruins before their affair began.
