Fikile Mbalula took to Twitter on Wednesday morning to repost Ramaphosa’s announcement about land reform, which he made late on Tuesday night.

“Revolutionary morning South Africa, in the name of Land Expropriation Without Compensation. The people spoke and the ANC listen - society needed more clarity from our movement on this issue and: WE ARE GIVING THE PEOPLE WHAT THEY WANT: LAND !!” Mbaks captioned the post.

However, the ANC’s plans to implement land expropriation without compensation received mixed reactions from South Africans.

So, Briefly.co.za decided to gather six intense reactions from tweeps.

1. Get ready for failure

Johan Kritzinger wrote, “Mr Weetfokkol, there’s nothing revolutionary about LEWC. It’s been done many times before, the evidence of failure is well documented. Don’t brand populist policies as revolutionary policies.”

2. Land is not the only thing South Africans want

Jean Durand commented, “The people also want Range Rovers, no Taxes, free airtime, private jets, world cup tickets and champagne.”

However, not everyone agreed with Durand.

3. More empty promises

4. The EFF is the true hero

5. The ANC is trying to win votes

6. SA will turn into a second Zimbabwe
