- The Queens actor Sipho is sick of being misread with his onscreen character
- People don't even think he can speak English because they assume that he is the same as Mjekejeke
- He just wants people to take the time to know Sipho
The Queens actor Sipho Manzini stood up to make it clear that he is not a simpleton like his character. We often assume that the actor is in real life, as their character is on screen.
Mjekejeke is a somewhat naive and simple person, but Sipho is not that, reported Times Live. He noticed this when fans saw him in real life and approached him as they would his character.
Briefly.co.za learnt that he stated that he knows his character is not all there, but he is and people need to stop confusing Sipho with Mjekejeke.
Sipho loves his fans and he expressed that they generally love him too aside from a few incidences. He has felt that people judge him and talk behind his back. One incident was when he was at the bank talking English and people could not believe it.
It is simple assumptions like thinking he can’t speak English that gets to Sipho. He says that people need to remember that the show is a story and not one based on him.
He is also pestered by fans who want to know the inside on his relationship with Petronella, like it is a real life thing. It is a fictional relationship that has no more depth than what is seen on screen.
Sipho loves his job and he worked extremely hard to get the role on The Queen, but he just wants fans to know him for who he is, aside from his character.
