A JMPD officer has won praise for helping a woman who was stranded with a flat tyre along a highway recently.

Johannesburg chief of police's Twitter handle, @AsktheChiefJMPD, shared photos of the unnamed officer changing the tyre, Briefly.co.za gathered.

The encouraging images have racked up more than 200 retweets and 1,100 likes so far.

South Africans on Twitter commended the officer for his commitment to service.

One tweep joked that the officer deserves the land.

For some tweeps, however, all drivers, especially women, need to learn how to change tyres.

More police officers across the country are proving perceptions that they are complacent wrong.
