Sjava weighs in on SA's land debate: 'The land belongs to us'

In an interview with international radio show, Hot 97, Sjava made his opinions on the land debate very clear.

Whilst speaking to American radio personality, Ebro Darden, Sjava went on to say: “the land belongs to us. There’s no discussion about that”. He continued by saying that farmers should pay rent as the land is not theirs.

TimesLIVE reported that President Cyril Ramaphosa is taking steps to reword the policy of land expropriation within the constitution to make the policy clearer and easier to understand.

Sjava is a recording artist hailing from Johannesburg. Briefly.co.za discovered that Sjava had humble beginnings as he started his career by busking in the streets.

Sjava has also won a BETViewers Choice Award for ‘Best International Act’, making him the first South African act to do so. Cassper Nyovest, Emtee and AKA have also been nominated for this award previously.
