By now, all of South Africa knows that Julius Malema fired off a rifle at the EFF birthday celebrations.

What many people don't know, is that a case has been opened against Adriaan Snyman, the owner of a Bluff Security Company, and the man who handed Malema the rifle.

Briefly.co.za reported that Andile Mngxitama, leader of the BLF, announced that his organisation would lay criminal charges against the white 'settler' who handed a high-powered assault rifle to Malema.

Mngxitama claims Snyman, who served as one of Malema’s bodyguards, was involved in an elaborate plot to get Malema to kill black people on his behalf and said the incident was part of a carefully calculated plan to kill and maim black people.

Tweeps reacted to the announcement by the BLF with humour and doesn't take it too seriously.

Here are some of the funny responses the announcement got:

While no one is really taking the BLF seriously, Malema could still be in real trouble. The EFF claimed that Malema fired off blanks, but it is believed that it was real ammo.

According to a report by Briefly.co.za, a firearm expert stated that Malema definitely fired off live ammo during the EFF event.
