Xolani Gwala has been out of the game for a while, but now he is back. The radio personality got diagnosed with colon cancer last year and took some time to deal with his health.
He returned to our radios on Thursday and he could not be happier to be back, reported Sowetan Live.
It was in September last year that he announced that he would be taking a break due to his health. Mzansi is very glad to have him back and in good health.
Briefly.co.za learnt that it was in July this year that the station manager revealed that Gwala was finally in remission. The news spread like wildfire and we were all so glad to hear of his recovery.
Standing in for Joanne Joseph on Thursday, reminded Gwala and his fans of his time on radio and how he was so deeply loved.
Just minutes before his big return, Gwala sat down with Azania Mosaka and spoke through his lead up to his cancer diagnosing.
Gwala took the opportunity to tell his listeners how happy he was to be back.
He stated that he has so much to be grateful for and that he will never take another day for granted. His friends, family, kids and wife are some of his greatest treasures.
It was the love and support that kept him going, said Gwala. He said that he would have never made it without the amazing people around him.
Gwala went on to thank his doctors for everything that they did in order to get him back to where he is now. He is eternally grateful for them.
Listeners were beyond joyous to hear his voice again and the loved was spread far and wide.
Mayor Herman Mashaba was a caller on the station that day. He called in to express his gratitude for Gwala being back and in good health.
Mzansi is glad to have him back and thankful for his recovery.
