Julius Malema took to social media to congratulate Emmerson Mnangagwa on winning the election and Zimbabweans were furious. South Africans and Zimbabweans alike reacted to Malema's tweet.

Some tweeps accused Malema of being a hypocrite and were upset that he approved what some call a 'sham election'.

@MJairosi - When ANC killed people in Marikana, you did the right thing when you rejected Jacob Zuma's rule-by-the- gun attitude. But when you congratulate a bandit who wins an election, not only by hook or by crook but by trampling on 6 dead bodies, shows how hypocritical politicians can be

@M_Jay94 - Nonsense! As Zimbabweans we do not accept these results as they don't represent our will. I'm disappointed that you applaud electoral fraud! Shame on you!

@witmwire - I thought you stood for intergrity and principles but clearly you are just like them. With so much overwhelming evidence of election mismanagement you rubber stamp a sham election. Our SADC brothers are failing the citizens of Zimbabwe.
