Supersport United have handed over the reigns of head coach to iconic club son Kaitano Tembo. The former Zimbabwean defender has been offered a two year contract. Tembo has been at the club for the last 19 years and rose through the ranks to become Assistant Coach. Briefly.co.za learned that Tembo has been caretaker coach in three occasions.
Kaitano Tembo was responsible for the team's last eleven last season, steering them from the face of relegation. He was ably to take the club into the top half winning a berth for this season's MTN8. According to Kickoff.com the club legend was overjoyed at the opportunity promising to reward the faith reposed in him.
“ I’m honoured by the confidence the club has shown in me in giving me this great opportunity. This club has been the centre of my life for almost 20 years and I and my players will give everything we have to keep our run of success going”.
The club begin their Premier league campaign away to Cape Town City and Matsatsantsa will be hoping to give Tembo the perfect start.
