A year ago on 3 August 2017, South Africans heard the devastating news of the death of Dumisani Masilela.
The country lost a talented and beloved young actor and musician, but his wife, Simphiwe “Simz” Ngema lost the love of her life.
Simz took the death of her other half hard and she often took to social media to share her feelings with her followers.
So, Briefly.co.za decided to gather five post Simz made since the death of her hubby a year-ago, which had South Africans reaching for tissues.
1. "Someone in me died"
Taking to Instagram on the one year anniversary of Dumi's death, Simz wrote a part of her died with her husband.
2. It’s almost time to let you go
As Briefly.co.za reported earlier this week, Simz wrote an emotional post about moving on. She announced she decided to take off her wedding ring on the day her hubby had been gone a year.
"It’s almost time to let you go and the thought of living without you makes me anxious but holding on to you is more painful. I promise to keep you safe and to one day give you to the woman who will be Kgosi’s heartkeeper," part of the emotional post read.
3. "My memory still loves you"
4. Simz's emotional happy birthday to her hubby
On 31 May, Simz celebrated Dumi's first birthday since he was killed last year.
5. Learning to live again
Simz took to Instagram to share a snap of her and her friends, whom she said helped her to live again after she lost Dumi.
Dumi was killed on 3 August last year in a hijacking that went horribly wrong. Taking to Twitter on Friday, South Africans send messages to honour the actor on the anniversary of his death.
