The days were only women celebrated the pending arrival of their child with baby showers are over- modern men have joined the party.

A tweep shared photos of men celebrating their friend becoming a dad, and they did not just bust out a few beers and have a braai. No, they went all the way- a baby inspired cake, nappies and pacifier.

“A rare sight of a proud black father, these are things we must celebrate. Switch it up,” @TumeloZA captioned the photos.

Tweeps had mixed reactions on the male baby shower. Some of the manly men felt the soon-to-be daddy and his friends crossed a line.

Maduna Mpitivic, aka @MawandaMpiti, added although he is not against men celebrating fatherhood, a baby showed is too much.

“I'm a proud father of 3 kids. Have had congratulatory braais and drinks with friends. Dressing in nappies and all, nah fam that's a bit too much for me,” Mpitivic wrote.

However, Briefly.co.za saw the majority of tweeps praised the dad-to-be and his friends for celebrating a special time in one’s life without worrying about masculinity.
