Cash-strapped SABC radio can't afford to broadcast PSL matches

The South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) has been unable to reach an agreement with the Premier Soccer League in regards to the rights to broadcast the soccer matches over the radio.

The SABC released a statement on Friday saying that they would not be allowed to broadcast PSL matches over the radio which would effectively sever millions of South Africans from live coverage of the country's most popular sport.

Briefly.co.za learned that the PSL will not allow the SABC to broadcast any PSL matches until an agreement can be reached which they are under obligation to under the radio broadcast and game promotion agreement according to the Sowetanlive.co.za.

South Africans have reacted to these developments with an understandable level of frustration and vented their opinions on Twitter.
