Gun wielding Bishop Vusi Dube defends himself over R5 Rifle

- Bishop Dube claimed that the picture posted on twitter is over 10 years old and had purposely resurfaced

- Bishop Dube says he held the firearm only for the photo to be taken before returning it

- He accuses the EFF of trying to divert the attention from him in the wake of Malema's own case of shooting into the air at an EFF rally in Mdantsane.

Key Jacob Zuma ally and member of the ANC provincial legislature member in KwaZulu-Natal Bishop Vusi Dube is at the centre of a storm over a gun he appears carrying on a picture posted on Twitter. The picture was postedf by fellow provincial member who represents the EFF Vusi Khoza.

Bis hop Dube slammed Khoza accusing him of politicking and undisciplined comrade behaviour. According to Bishop Dube the picture was taken over ten years ago and the attempt by Khoza was to divert attention from EFF leader Julius Malema. Malema is caught up in his own storm after discharing a rifle in Mdantsane at an EFF rally.

Briefly.co.za learned that Khoza sent the tweet appealing to SAPS to investigate Bishop Dube accusing him of money laundering via his eThekwini Community Church. Dube defended himself saying he does not own a fiream nor does he have a licence to own one. According to the Mercury on Sunday, Dube says the picture was taken 10 years ago and had only purposefully resurfaced now.
