To say thank you, Lvovo and local music group, Distruction Boyz, will be hosting a braai in Durban on August 16.

TimesLIVE reported that he wants to acknowledge and reward taxi drivers for their integral part within the Durban Kwaito scene. Lvovo mentions that taxi drivers take chances on aspiring musicians when radio and TV don’t. Without taxis playing their music repeatedly, many artists like Lvovo wouldn’t be where they are today.

Durban taxi drivers seldom receive good attention.

During 2017, Briefly.co.za reported on a permit scheme that was being run among taxi owners in Durban. In order to obtain new vehicles, owners simply bought false permits and placed them with their financial applications.

Lvovo also mentioned that he would like to put the spotlight on Durban taxi drivers to improve their reputations and aims to do this with his thank-you braai.
