A South African woman inspired social media users with her determination to succeed in these difficult economic times.
It is no secret South Africans are having a hard time staying afloat- the VAT increased, petrol prices reached record high prices, taxi fares are up and unemployment is higher in the second quarter of 2018.
Now, with millions of people without jobs and the cost of living becoming higher, some people decided to take matters into their own hands.
Social media user Magdeline, who goes by the Twitter handle @McD3line, is one of these people. Magdeline decided she was no longer going to wait for a job opportunity to fall into her lap.
Instead, she used her drive to succeed and started her own tiling company, which she showed off on Twitter recently and it inspired other tweeps, Briefly.co.za gathered.
Social media users praised Magdeline for her hustle, adding she not only created a job for herself, but proved women can succeed in construction, a male dominated industry, as well.
A tweep, @tmoatshe97, commented: "Women who understand life, and don't succumb to standards put forward by society."
Baba musa tafida (@BabaTafida) added, "Oh God, Mag, May God strengthen you. You've made my day. Go my daughter!"
