A traffic officer from Cape Town was praised after she helped rescue a toddler, who was left in a vehicle by her parents on Sunday.
It is extremely dangerous for anyone- whether an adult or child- to be left in a closed car for hours.
However, when the person trapped in the vehicle is still a young child, the time it takes to result in a fatality is drastically shortened.
That why traffic officer Nontsikelelo Kalimani was hailed a hero for saving a three-year-old little girl, who was trapped in a hot car.
According to IOL, Kalimani was first on the scene to assist the little girl, who was sitting in a vehicle parked at Grand Parade on Sunday.
Briefly.co.za learned when Kalimani arrived on scene, the toddler was distressed, sweating and her nose was runny.
But, Kalimani managed to keep her calm while the back window of the car was smashed in and at the end of the ordeal, they managed to get the little girl, who was dressed in a cute pink outfit, out of the hot vehicle.
According to the report, it has not been made public who was supposed to look after the little girl, but it is believed her parents left her in the car while they attended the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God.
