A horrific video has been circulating on social media which shows how thugs rob people in broad daylight.
The Intelligence Bureau SA Facebook paged shared a video which showed criminals no longer only strike at night, they now rob people in broad daylight as well.
The footage shows a man walking in a crowded small street mall, when he is jumped by several thugs who rob him.
Briefly.co.za saw the video also showed people staring at the ordeal and some even turned away to continue walking.
The post gathered mixed reaction from social media users. Some felt people should have tried to help while others agreed it is best to stay safe and let the thugs be.
Gugu T P Dlamini commented, "I see a lot of people asking why didn't anybody help. They probably want to but are afraid. My friend tried helping someone last year and he got stabbed and was robbed aswell for interfering. That's what these thugs do in Joburg. They can even kill you for trying to be a hero. My question is, why aren't there police on patrol on these streets coz it is known for these criminal acts? I stay in Pretoria but I know Small street, Bree and other spots are no go areas. How do joburg police not know this fact and be visible?"
One Facebook user recalled an incident he went through, where robbers left him unconscious on the pavement.
Bigboy Moyo wrote, "They did this to me last month.they left me unconscious on the pavement.i will never walk in town again."
