A teenager whose friend pushed her from a bridge in Portland, United States, says she's "happy to be alive."
16-year-old Jordan Holgerson was with her friends at the bridge over Lewis River earlier this week when the incident happened, Briefly.co.za learned.
Speaking to ABC News, Jordan said she initially wanted to jump but changed her mind. However, a friend pushed her before she was ready after a countdown.
She suffered five broken ribs and a lung injury as a result. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media.
Speaking from hospital, Jordan said:
In the air I was trying to push myself forward, so I could be like straight up and down that make my head hit first but that definitely did not work.
Paramedics took her to hospital immediately and she received treatment. It will take approximately six months before she can be active in sports again.
Social media users expressed outrage at what Jordan's friend did. Some suggested that the friend should face charges.
