Uzalo’s Noxy Mabika recently opened up about being raised by a single father.

The star spoke frankly about how her own experiences have helped her define how she wants to raise her own family.

She recalled how her mother abandoned her and her brother when she was only in Grade 2 and about how they were then raised by her father, reports okmzansi.

She spoke up about how she fantasized about going to live with her mother in a big, beautiful house and that although her father did a great job raising them, she really longed to be raised by her mother.

They met their mother again in 2005 after their father bumped into her brother and he told them where to look. She was already 16 years old when she reunited with her mother.

Although she wasn’t loving in a fancy house, and didn’t have a fancy car, Nozy said she was only too happy to have her mother back in her life.

She says the entire situation has made her realise that she does not want to raise her own children without having a partner present in their lives.

The role of a mother cannot be underpinned it seems and another local actress recently opened up about how she wants to raise her daughter.

Briefly.co.za learned that Jessica Nkosi stated she would be consulting the oldest source in history, the Bible for advice on her to raise her baby girl. She added that she would also be relying on her mother for guidance.
