- Tributes have been pouring in for ProKid
- One really special tribute was recently posted by Kabomo Vilakazi
- It remembers when he wowed Flabba from Skwatta Kamp and stopped a crown from booing
South Africa was shocked by the sudden death of ProKid recently nd memories and tributes have been pouring in.
One really special one has to be from long-time friend Kabomo Vilakazi.
Kabomo took to Instagram recently sharing a special tribute honouring his friend’s life and talent.
In the post he spoke about how this was the first time he heard ProKid perform and describes how he and Skwatta Kamp star Flabba were driving towards the stadium when they heard ProKid being introduced as a new talent.
Prokid took to the stage with his friend Gift "Magzz" Magubane and started singing his song, Soweto.
As the performance was in Thembisa, the crowd immediately started booing… until
“Prokid started spitting (lyrics). Oh my lawwwwd, ProKid started spitting... ProKid owned every one of those Tembisa heads in that stadium with nothing but a mic in his hand. I had heard people rhyme in Zulu before, but never with such cadence, flow, timing, wit and vigour... it was a display of word wizardry of the highest level."
Fans were quick to add tributes to this post.
