Author Brigette Hyacinth shared the story of a man, who showed up late to an interview but managed to land the job regardless.

Social media user @WoleOdeleye shared Hyacinth’s story on Twitter on Saturday.

She wrote a man was late for an interview by 15 minutes, and the HR manager instructed her to cross him off the candidates list.

However, the potential employee showed up half an hour later, soaking wet. According to Hyacinth, the man was involved in an accident and decided to walk to the interview in the rain.

She added she sent him home without conducting and interview and decided to give him the job.

“He already had a great resume and if he showed so much heart, I wanted him on my team. He ended up being my Top Performer,” she recalled.

Her story led to @WoleOdeleye writing about a similar thing that happened to him- the only difference was he did not get the job, but it ended up being the best thing that ever happened to him.
