- The winger who went in for a challenge with Makhaula had to be stretchered off after 55 minutes in an injury which could see him return towards the end of the season
- The Stars midfielder explained that he intended no malice towards the winger as he went in for the tackle.
Joseph"Tight" Molangoane of Kaizer Chiefs could be out for the whole season after a crunching tackle with Free State Stars Makhehlen Makhuala left his ankle broken. The incident which took place in Chiefs' 3-0 nil win left the player in agony and he had to be stretchered off after 10 minutes. The tackle which seemed vicious had Chiefs players accosting Makhaula and had to be restrained.
The player who survived a booking from the referee has apologised to the Molangoane. Breifly.co.za gathered that the injury to the player could be potentially a career setback given his age and the difficulty he has faced in commanding a regular starting berth in the Chiefs squad. According to Supersport Makhehleni Makhaula told his club website that he did not mean to injure the player and he wished him a speedy recovery.
