‘The Queen’ has added another fresh face to their already stellar cast by introducing Lunathi Mampofu who will be playing a new character on the show named Benni who is an orphan that gets involved with a drug cartel.

Before landing this role, Lunathi had been going to numerous auditions in the hope of making a name for herself in the film industry to follow in the footsteps of her famous brothers, Prince and Oros Mampofu.

Her brother, Oros features as Jama Kekana in ‘Skeem Saam’ and it’s obvious that acting runs in the family.

The young actress was thrilled to receive the news that she got the role on Mzansi Magic’s popular show and it is the break she has been waiting many years for.

Briefly.co.za learned that the young beauty always had plans to go into acting ever since she was a child.

She used to be involved in her school choir which used to travel the world performing as well as being part of any theatre production she could.

TimesLIVE says the actress sees her role on ‘The Queen’ as a challenge that she is more than ready for as she has spent many years perfecting her craft before she entered the industry.

She also feels that the role will push her out of her comfort zone as it is nothing like her in real life.

Lunathi completed her studies at AFDA but decided that she wanted to further her education by attending a film school in New York.

Since she graduated she has been involved with many smaller roles in short films and commercials to gain some experience.

She is grateful that the producers of the show have given her a chance in her first major role and she hopes that she will do it justice.
