- The University of Cape Town says an investigation into the upsetting post has begun
Arthur Mabentsela shared borderline criminal and violent content on Facebook - much to the horror of other Facebook users.
In his post, Mabentsela stated that he had thoughts of raping and killing his 2-year-old daughter.
According to a report by 2OceansVibe, Mabentsela's disturbing post got a lot of attention. People were disgusted by his words.
Mabentsela has been a lecturer at UCT's department of chemical engineering since 2015.
Gerda Kruger, the University of Cape Town's spokesperson, said Mabentsela's post is unacceptable and out of line with the university's values.
She added that an investigation into the lecturer's behaviour has begun and that it would be handled.
Briefly.co.za learned that this isn't the first time Mabentsela shared his controversial opinions on social media.
Earlier, the lecturer gave women 'advice' and told them, among other things, to 'close their legs and open their ears'.
He also posted racial comments about finding people with 'Asian characteristics' worrying.
