Police have intercepted a suspected stolen bakkie that was covered in snacks and apparently headed for neighbouring Zimbabwe.

According to a post on the SAPS Facebook page, the incident happened early this morning along the N1 highway towards Polokwane.

Officers had received a tip-off and stopped a Toyota Hilux that was towing a trailer, Briefly.co.za gathered.

An initial search indicated that the trailer was carrying snacks and other goods. However, a closer inspection revealed the bakkie underneath the snacks.

The cops arrested four suspects aged between 30 and 40 years old. The suspects face charges of possession of suspected stolen motor vehicle.
