A video has gone viral on social media which shows another hijacking in South Africa- and it led to serious questions regarding citizens' safety.
Social media user Yusuf Abramjee, who goes by the Twitter handle @Abramjee, took to the platform to share a video of a hijacking in action.
The CCTV footage shows several men getting out of a car to ambush unsuspected civilians who appeared to be in front of a residence.
However, not only did the armed force the driver out of the car, the searched all his companions for valuables before making off in the stolen vehicle.
Briefly.co.za gathered video was posted on Twitter on Thursday and with in just a day, it gathered almost 20 000 views.
Tweeps were shook by the video footage and soon started to express their concerns that South Africans would never be able to feel safe in the country again.
Social media user @WISANI_BLACK wrote, "Sad reality how one works hard to better their own life, working hard everyday & through the sweat you buy yourself car or something and then comes the thugs and take it like that as if it was never your belonging. Just like that it's gone."
Another tweep, @Iam_nqobs, added: "It's sickening to watch but we should get used to it because the government isn't bothered."
